How my playoff would look

December 8th, 2008, 4:58 pm by Josh Weinfuss

If I had a chance to develop a college football playoff, this is a peek at what it would be like.

There would be eight teams, the six major conference champions, the top ranked finisher from the other conferences and the next highest BCS-ranked team.

The teams:
Big 12: No. 1 Oklahoma
SEC: No. 2 Florida
Pac 10: No. 5 USC
Big Ten: No. 8 Penn State
Big East: No. 12 Cincinnati
ACC: No. 19 Virginia Tech

At-large berths:
No. 3 Texas
No. 6 Utah

The Football Championship Subdivision playoffs bracket was unveiled Sunday. Just thought I’d pass it along and let you, the college football fan readers, see for yourself what it would look like and how neat a FBS playoff could be.

Obama is a college football fan

November 3rd, 2008, 5:28 pm by Josh Weinfuss

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama may win some votes during tonight’s interview at halftime of Monday Night Football.

When asked by Chris Berman what he would change about sports, Obama responded with this:

“I think it is about time that we had playoffs in college football,” Obama said. “I’m fed up with these computer rankings and this and that and the other. Get eight teams - the top eight teams right at the end. You got a playoff. Decide on a National Champion.”

The quote was provided from ESPN from an excerpt of tonight’s interview, which was taped earlier this morning.

How many votes do you think he’ll win? Lose?
